Paris, early 2010 - It is estimated that in Europe there are 495 million people, at least 3 of these 10 people are living homeless, according to the Abbé Pierre Foundation's annual report on the 2009.
This is a direct consequence of the economic crisis, millions of people are homeless and have difficulty in finding a home. "The house is a factor of impoverishment, but also a new source of inequality," is written in the French report.
Other factors that make the alarming situation is the overcrowding housing and unhealthy homes. According to the Foundation , inadequate housing covers a variety of situations involving 10.1 million people in 2009, nearly 600,000 children. Of this total, 3.5 million people do not even have a place to sleep.
Meanwhile, the average annual cost of renting or buying a home continues to increase (+23% for the purchase between 2002 and 2007), and many buyers are in debt.

That of homelessness is a pressing problem, and still expanding. The more a country develops and the industrialization of the more predominant within it, the more the population living in poor conditions and poverty is increasing.
